His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, this afternoon received in audience Sir Geoffrey Vos, The Master of the Rolls, United Kingdom. Sir Geoffrey Vos together with his wife is in the country for a five-day Working Visit to various Brunei legal sectors from 17th to 22nd September 2023. The Audience Ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman. Also present during the Audience Ceremony were Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence, The Honourable Dato Seri Paduka Steven Chong Wan Oon, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu, Deputy Minister for Security and Law at the Prime Minister's Office.
During the Audience Ceremony, His Majesty and Sir Geoffrey Vos, discussed matters related to the long-standing cooperation in the legal sector between Brunei Darussalam and the United Kingdom as well as the latest development in the law. Accompanying Sir Geoffrey Vos was Mrs. Catherine Pochkhanavala-Cleeve, Acting British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam.
